The faces of Genotoul’s platforms: 25 years of portraits!
Since its creation in 1999, Genotoul has become a key player in scientific research in Occitania and beyond.
In celebrating this quarter-century, we pay tribute to the passion and dedication of the technicians, engineers, and researchers who, day after day, push the boundaries of knowledge and innovation through the implementation of increasingly advanced expertise and technologies.
Genotoul has 12 technology platforms spread across 63 academic technological labs under the supervision of CNRS, INRAE, Inserm, University of Toulouse, INSA, ENVT, INP, or the CHU. These platforms provide researchers with cutting-edge infrastructure and essential technical skills. Each platform is a space for collaboration, where technical expertise, scientific ambitions, and innovation intersect.
Experts at the heart of innovation
The members of the platforms support the research teams in the use of equipment, the development of new methods, data interpretation, and legal and ethical advice.
Their role is crucial for:
• Providing advanced technological expertise to research and innovation projects;
• Ensuring the quality, reproducibility, and robustness of scientific results;
• Developing new methodological approaches that benefit the entire scientific community;
• Training users;
• Advancing the platforms to the highest level through technological and regulatory monitoringin using the equipment, developing new methods and interpreting the data.
Behind each of our engineers and technicians lies a unique journey. Over the years, they develop specialized expertise and become essential references in their fields: bioinformatics, imaging, genomics, modeling, ethics, and many others…
Through this series of portraits, we invite you to discover these women and men, true ‘craftsmen of innovation’, who every day for the past 25 years, have contributed to the prominence of the Toulouse hub.
Dive into the heart of Genotoul and let yourself be inspired by these talents who transform ideas into major scientific breakthroughs.
